Ask Your Advocate: Are Forex Brokers to Blame for Traders Losing Money?

Question for Your Advocate: Skeptic always said retail traders will always lose money when we trade via a market maker. How true is that?

Your Advocate Says: Before I begin, I need to make it clear that I am not here to defend forex brokers, including those who act as market makers and that traders have to take responsibility for losing as well as take credit for winning. It should not matter to a trader if a broker is a market maker as long as you get consistent pricing/executions and you

Ask Your Advocate: Who is Considered to be the Best Forex Broker?

Your Advocate Says: Before I relate my findings, you have to decide your priorities in choosing a broker. This makes “best” a relative word as what is best for you is not necessarily best for me. However, there are certain basic criteria that you need

Ask Your Advocate: Is the Trend Really Your Friend?

Ask Your Advocate

Hi Jay, I enjoyed reading your article on trading  tips and in particular like the one about staying with the stronger trend.  MY experience with trading is NEVER trade against the trend, even if it means trading only once a month.  However, I suppose it is hard to be that disciplined, which is what tells the winners from the losers. Your view?

Ask Your Advocate: Is Trading Gambling?

Question for the Advocate:

Is there a difference between forex trading and gambling? I find myself gambling as much as trading.

Your Advocate Says:

This is a good question as it can make the difference between failing and having a chance to succeed. Compare a professional gambler who plays the odds with a casual gambler who hopes to make money if he gets lucky and measure the results. Similarly, there is a difference between a professional trader who relies on a systematic approach, discipline

Ask Your Advocate: Do Spreads Really Matter?

Question for the Advocate: I saw you wrote an article on forex broker spreads and was wondering do they really matter?

Was Eurozone HICP (CPI) Leaked Beforehand (Follow Up)

I submitted the following to the Eurostat and suggest others do the same to put public pressure on investigating whether the HICP data was leaked. While I do not hold out high hopes that it will be addressed, the more people who contact Eurostat, the greater chance that it will be taken seriously.

Description: I represent an association of global traders. The reason I am contacting you is I suspect the flash Eurozone HICP was leaked beforehand. We have suspected European data being leaked for some time but this was so blatant as it appeared to occur around 10 minutes before the release time that I had to report it. One look at the EURUSD price action and I knew someone had the data beforehand as it firmed to the high of the da

Was Eurozone HICP (CPI) Leaked Beforehand?

One of the goals of the Global Traders Association is to fight for a level playing field for the global trader. This includes getting a fair chance to react to economic data, such as today’s release of Eurozone HICP (CPI), where price action suggests there may have been a leak.
