Markets move when there is a surprise, whether it is economic data, a speech or some other key event, such as a central bank decision. With the current focus mainly on key U.S. events this week (2Q GDP, FOMC, July employment), it pays to take a look at what would be considered a surprise. For those who say news doesn’t matter and that it is all in the charts, tell me that after we get through this event filled week.
