It is said don’t fight the central banks but this is usually refers to monetary policy. In the forex market, this is less clear as it is generally easier to talk a currency down than talk it up unless accompanied by policy changes. We have seen the RBA talk down the Australian dollar yet it is currently closer to .95 than the .85 level that it seemed to target. Now it is the ECB’s turn.
