ECB Decisions Hit Markets
Now that we are over a week into ECB policy ease, it appears that Draghi's policy changes have had a major impact. The initial impact has been complex and centered within the Eurozone, The ECB focus on supporting the peripheral nations in the EZ has seem yields in the nations with less desirable credit fall relative to prime credits such as Germany. Goals of the ECB have been to stimulate weaker EZ economies, generate price rises (inflation) and to generate export demand (weaker exchange rate). The central bank has seen some success on all their goal over the past week with intra Eurozone government bond yields converging and the EUR losing ground across the board against major currencies.
